Wow that would have been amazing to be there live! I hear after each home run the players would put on a sombrero- that’s hilarious and heartwarming at the same time! Go Padres!!
Way to go MIKE! The local TV news and newspapers here in San Diego highlighted the Padres wins and the celebrations in Mexico City. Keep cheering for your/our team! :-)
As a Blue Jays fans, I would definitely love to see them play a game down in Mexico and also grow the fanbase there as well. Also I really love the colours of the Padres jerseys, other than the Red Canada Day jerseys from the Blue Jays, I would really like to get that jersey.
Hi Fahim - thanks for the comment! I like that San Diego jersey too - it is their special cross-border jersey. I recently bought a Team Mexico jersey in Guadalajara, and I love it. I wonder if I can find that San Diego jersey here...
What a fun story! I believe you have a Beisbol Game Commentator career ahead of you, Mike! I can hear you already: "Hoooooooooooooooooooome run!" Is that what Mexican say in Castellano anyway? I love the cross pollination with Lucha Libre I have seen Rey Mysterio fight twice. (Surprised I have an Inner She-Beast?) I am proud you are a loyal Padres Fan.
United States economists are of the opinion the new time-reducing game rules for MLB may directly or indirectly contribute to increased productivity, Innovation, profit and quality of family life!
Ha ha thanks Elva. In Mexico, a home run is a “cuadrangular”, and there were plenty of cuadrangulares this weekend. Fun that you got to see Rey Mysterio wrestle! I’ve never seen him, but I have a Rey Mysterio T-shirt 😉

Yes, the home run sombrero! Forgot to mention that, but it’s the one in the first photo. Thanks for the reminder!
